Chevrolet was founded in 1911 in Detroit by Swiss race car driver and automotive engineer Louis Chevrolet. Since 1917 Chevrolet is a part of General Motors, one of the world's largest car and truck manufacturers. In 2005 Chevrolet started to sell in Europe, primarily vehicles built by GM Daewoo in South Korea, but in 2013 reversed this move and announced the brand would be withdrawn from Europe in 2016. In Europe the most popular Chevrolet models are Spark, Aveo, Cruze, Captiva, Camaro, Corvette, Orlando.

In Poland there is still a net of authorised dealers and the central warehouse of Chevrolet original spare parts (genuine spare parts in genuine packing, OE, OEM, OES). It looks like East and Central Europe may be considered as a source of limited number of original Chevrolet auto parts (OE, OEM, OES) for international trade of automotive genuine spare parts.
